Gentlemen and Players

I have read other novels by Joanne Harris and really enjoyed them. This one did not work for me. I enjoy the mystical, magical qualities of her stories. This one left me cold and unsatisfied. I started it just as the most recent virus struck, so it could be that I did not have the right energy and attitude to read this, but I was flying and needed to read something! I was happy to finish it, just to be done.

I am going to pass it along to a friend who is an avid reader, to see if her take on it is different...

Ah- I saw this in the bookstore last week and almost bought it because I've liked her books too. Now I'm glad I passed it up - maybe not one of her better ones?
